2009 Australian Women’s Health Diary
October - National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a subject close to our hearts, and The Weekly is passionate about raising funds to find a cure for this disease.

Some key initiatives, produced voluntarily by some of our staff, include The Australian Women's Health Diary and the National Breast Cancer Foundation's Pink Ribbon magazine.

The Australian Women's Health Diary 2009 is a wonderful resource for women of all ages. It is filled with the latest health information on how to look and feel your best, it has all the essential features to help organise your busy life (and your family!), plus it makes a great Christmas gift. Best of all, every purchase is helping to save lives.

Produced by The Australian Women's Weekly on behalf of the Breast Cancer Institute of Australia (BCIA), the diary has raised an astonishing $4.3 million over the past 10 years to support vital breast cancer research.

Monies raised fund clinical trials research which aims to identify the most effective treatment to cure every person diagnosed with breast cancer and prevention for all those at risk.

With more than one in 10 women diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime, the BCIA, The Weekly and our fellow diary sponsors the Commonwealth Bank and Avon, are committed to doing all we can to fight the disease.

Seven News anchor Chris Bath has written the foreword to The Australian Women's Health Diary 2009, and is passionate about this project.

"I depend on my Australian Women's Health Diary to help organise my busy life. But we all depend on the breast cancer research it supports, because one day this research could save your life or the life of someone close to you," says Chris.

The Australian Women's Health Diary 2009 is now available nationally for just $12.95 at newsagents, most Woolworths and Safeway supermarkets, selected Commonwealth Bank branches, online at www.bcia.org.au, or by telephoning 1800 423 444.

All proceeds from sales of the diary go to the BCIA, which supports the Australian New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group and its national clinical trials research program for the prevention and cure of breast cancer.
