Something different for Christmas

It's that time again, when everybody starts thinking about Christmas. There seem like so many decisions to make as the countdown begins. In case you hadn't realised, Christmas is just over eight weeks away.


Between now and December 25 you have to decide what to eat on the big day, how many people you're going to feed, whether you go traditional or try something new, or do you have a feast of seafood? Regardless of what you decide, we have some new cookbooks out which will help you with all of the above. You'll be spoilt for choice.

Classic Christmas (RRP $34.95) is all about traditional and contemporary recipes, starting with drinks and nibbles right through to the pudding with all the trimmings. There are cakes and gifts to make, plus many helpful tips to make the big day run smoothly for you.

Fizz (RRP $24.95) is a stunning book full of fabulous finger food and cocktail recipes. (Click here for a recipe). Then there's Tapas (RRP $19.95) which has recipes for snacks of all shapes and sizes, all with the much-loved flavours of the Mediterranean. (Click here for a recipe).

We had a tapas party at home recently for my birthday. Everybody just loved the food. It's such a great way to eat and the food suits our climate very well. So why not have a tapas-inspired Christmas party? I'm thinking along those lines.

Don't forget the gift list you have to get through, too. Any of these books would make a perfect gift.
