The perfect picnic

Summer time is picnic time so get that basket and rug out and off you go. We're spoilt for choice in this country, there are stacks of places to go where facilities are provided, however, you just might want to wander off the beaten track and make your own fun.

Our latest book, titled Picnics ($12.95), gives you lots of fabulous recipes adaptable to all kinds of picnics. There are tips on what to take to make the day a success, ranging from choosing your picnic location through to how to entertain all the different age groups in the family.

Like any mustering of family and/or friends, you need to be organised if everything is to run smoothly — especially at a picnic where you're out of your home comfort zone. Make lists, organise great food — there are many brilliant recipe ideas in the book— plenty of drinks, entertainment, insect repellent and don't forget the sunscreen. It is summer time after all!
