Police horse lovingly licks bewildered bulldog

Police horses are expected to be brave and tough, carrying their riders into dangerous and terrifying situations without flinching — but this New York City police horse showed off his soft side recently.

The large bay horse couldn't get enough of a bulldog it met on the beat, stopping to lick the bewildered pooch for more than a minute.

While the dog looked stunned at first, it quickly grew accustomed to the attention from its new friend and its owner had to practically drag it away when it was time to go.

It is not known why the horse took a liking to the bulldog, or why it decided to lick the poor pooch for so long.
