Beef and soy lettuce cups

Beef and soy lettuce cups
INGREDIENTS

1 iceberg lettuce
2 x 500g rump steaks, cut into 1 cm dice
¼ cup kecap manis or char-sui sauce
4 green onions, cut on the diagonal

METHOD

Remove core from lettuce and hold under running cold water until layers between lettuce start to fill with water and can be removed easily to form cups. Trim tops to create even edge.

Toss steak in kecap manis and season with salt and pepper. Cook on an oiled barbecue plate or frying pan over a high heat in two batches for 5-8 minutes or until browned all over and cooked as desired. Quickly stir in half of the green onion before removing from heat.

Place beef and remaining green onions in prepared lettuce cups and serve immediately.

To jazz up lettuce cups, serve with grated carrot, bean sprouts and garnish with toasted sesame seeds.
