Jean Dujardin's performance in The Artist has made him an overnight superstar, and left him the favourite for the best actor Academy Award.

But some risqué promotional posters for the Frenchman's new film Les Infideles (The Players) have landed him in hot water – and maybe even ruined his Oscars chances.

The posters – which have been banned by France's advertising regulator for "degrading women" – feature Jean in various suggestive poses.
