BEAUTIFUL PEWTER
Pewter can be made to glow again by polishing it with toothpaste. Rub it on with a damp cloth, leave for about five minutes, then polish off with a soft, dry cloth. M. Stock, Sandy Bay, Tas.

CLEANING THE BATHROOM
Don't throw away your old body exfoliation gloves. Keep them for cleaning the shower screen and tiles in the bathroom. They make fast and easy work of removing mould without scratching the surfaces. K. Helmot, Ferntree Gully, Vic.

MOUSE TRAP BAIT
We've all had the bait stolen from a mouse trap so, instead of putting cheese or other solid material on it, smear some peanut butter on. Works every time. V. Lunt, Newmerella, Vic.

NIGHT FISHING
If you're going fishing at night, take along a garden solar light. Stick it in the ground next to you and you'll have enough light to bait your hooks. W. Marshall, Salter Point, WA.

DECKCHAIR CANVAS
Replace the worn-out canvas on a wooden deck chair with shade cloth. Simply fold the edges under and staple into position. It's UV resilient and quick-drying. D. Hayes, Ulverstone, Tas.

PARTY BALLOONS
After blowing up balloons for a party, put a drop of PVA glue inside the knot and they'll stay inflated for much longer. W. Chalmers, Highton, Vic.

BLACKBOARD CLEANING
To clean a child's blackboard, wipe it down a couple of times with a cloth soaked in a cola drink. The cola will cut straight through the dusty old chalk and leave the board looking as good as new. L. Stanislao, Indooroopilly, Qld.
