ALOE FOR SUNBURN
Holidays and beach weather are likely to mean sunburn. Keep an aloe vera plant handy and, to ease the pain and heal the burn, break a piece off and apply its juice. Elem, Balgowlah, NSW.

BREAKFAST PRUNES
Soak your breakfast prunes overnight in a vacuum flask of very hot water. The next morning they'll be plump, soft and warm. S. Robinson, Cronulla, NSW.

PIE PASTRY TIP
Roll out pie pastry on cling wrap on a damp surface. Then slide your hand under the wrap, turn the pastry onto the pie-dish and peel off the wrap. J. Liu, Baulkham Hills, NSW.

MOVING HOME
When moving home, set aside a box for coffee, tea, mugs, dried milk and a kettle and lable it clearly. You'll bless it when you need a cuppa. E. Grozde, Oak Flats, NSW.

FREEZER ALERT
To prevent the disaster of turning a freezer off by mistake, plug a night-light switch into the power point and you'll always be able to see it's on. C. Edmundson, Aberfoyle Park, SA.

DOGGIE SCRATCHING
Attach a large strip of heavy-duty sandpaper to the lower edge of your back door to prevent damage when your dog scratches at it to go out. J. Harrison, Drewvale, Qld.

RIPEN PASIONFRUIT
Wrap green passionfruit in paper, place in a warm spot and they'll ripen more quickly than they would on the vine. M. Matheson, Emu Plains, NSW.
