Kylie's Bollywood film bombs

Kylie Minogue's Bollywood debut, Blue, has been panned by critics, describing her "as sexy as a housewife in a kaftan".

The film, which cost $30 million to make, opened in India on Friday and received less than stellar reviews.

The pop princess was reportedly paid $1 million to star in the film, the most expensive Bollywood film ever made.

Her inclusion in the project was intended to increase the film's appeal to Western audiences, but according to critic Anil Verma, "She doesn't look good or even sound good."

The dance song 'Chiggy Wiggy' was supposed to be Kylie's showstopper, but it seems the critics don't agree.

"The music by A.R Rahman is strictly average; even the item song by Kylie Minogue can't save the film from reaching its watery grave," said critic Rajeev Masand.

Kylie's CV is already overflowing with accomplishments —, singer, songwriter, actress, lingerie designer, perfumer, cancer survivor and entertainer; surely this one setback won't stop the 'singing budgie' in her formidable tracks.

Your say: Do you think Kylie was a good choice to star in a Bollywood film? Who would you like to see in a Bollywood film? Will you go and see Blue? What do you like about Kylie?

I just saw the clip and i must say i was disappointed. she looks confused and out of place, it's almost as she was there to compare with the glamorous indian actors and actresses.she is a milky, washed out westerner while they are gorgeous colrful and young.....really sad
Kylie is amazing, regardless of her, age, i mean madonna is in her 50's and kylie is only in her early 40's, and is a much better singer. When ever i watch her sing live, i am always amazed at how good she is. I mean, at least she can sing, half the singers these day can't even cary a tune live. Anyway, if i look half as good as her when i get to her age, i'll be incredibly happy.
One Million Dollars is a ridiculous amount of money, I hope she gives some of it back to some Indian Orphanages and charities. I'm sure she doesnt need all that money.
I have not seen the movie yet but I am definitely going to be there once it comes in Australia. I went to kylie's showgirl concert in Sydney and I waited an extra year to see her and she was great. If you cant say anything nice about her then dont say anything at all cos I think she is one of the best we have. Even though she lives overseas, she was Australian born.
Come on for God's sake. She cant even sing let alone act. No wonder it was rated very poorly. Retire Kylie!!!!!
Bollywood What a joke 100yrs behind western entertainment Kylie does not fit in .Time you gave it up mate retire with grace your over the hill
Wh cares, seems like aperfect fit to me, overated singer in an overrated movie genre, bollywood films are terrible, so is this article lol
Is anyone surprised? She can't act. Of course she can't sing or dance either and is very plain under all the cosmetic work and none of that has proven to be a commercial handicap.
To those critics, from a true fan I agree.... No westener suits a bollywood style film however Kylie deserves credit in everything she attempts, wether she succeeds or not... she has covered a vast area of avenues in her career which shows true dedication to her work with what she desires to achieve and 95% of it has been a complete success. Better than any other tunnel minded singer i've ever come accross. Keep rockin my world girl!!
I agree with the critics, Kylie is not sexy, besides she is to old for this part, she has never been able to act or sing for that matter.
