Have your kids been inspired by MasterChef? Then stay tuned, Junior MasterChef could be on its way.

Win lunch with MasterChef's Julie Goodwin! The Ten Network is set to cash in on the success of Australia's most successful reality TV show with a children's spin-off planned.

It's not just the adults among the 3.75 million people who tuned in to see the finale of MasterChef who have been captivated, but children across the nation are feeling the call of the kitchen as well.

The network is already planning a one-day-a-week celebrity version of the show, but has not ruled out a kid's version.

At the Weekly offices, pressure and invention tests in the kitchen are popular with the children of staff, with the kids battling it out in the kitchen and Mum and Dad playing judges.

Your say: Have you been more inspired to cook after watching MasterChef? Have you "played" MasterChef with your kids? Would you watch a children's version of the show? Tell us below.

OMG, I love Masterchef. I really hope that sometime I can go on that show. I'm THE ultimate No.1 fan. WOOOOOO, I LOVE YOU, MASTERCHEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We certainly enjoyed here. Hubby is a chef and it was fun sitting around commenting on what contestants were doing wrong, right and otherwise. My son then cooked one of the recipes and now we call going the extra distance to cook a really fine meal, 'raising the masterchef bar'. Its a bit of a contest at times right in our kitchen.
I'm 15 years old and I love cooking! so please, please, please make a Junior MasterChef!! The 1st season of MasterChef was so so inspiring! I would be absolutely ecstatic if I could be a constestant on it!
yes definetley i am a kid myself i would love to sign up can anyone tell me
Fine if it is over the age of 14, kids do not need the pressure of this and the criticisim. But I'm afraid even then I wouldn't watch it. I love the adult show, except for contestants voting one another off, which is stupid, personalities get involved instead of skill and contestants improving. it should always be properly judged.
My daughter of 15years would love to do masterchef...she has a real passion for food and cooking....i come home to a cooked meal most nights....this would be excellent for her.... Do consider this .....young teenagers of today need inspiration and motivation...it keeps them out of trouble....MANY PEOPLE WOULD WATCH IT...FUTURE CHEFS OF THE COUNTRY....HOW EXCITING!!!!
Bring it back we miss it
Masterchef was a revelation on how reality TV can engage an audience. To those TV exec's that live in their little bubble, no we don't like to watch people in dispute and arguing like Big Brother. It was so refreshing to see the positivity ,the energy and emotion .Without the put down , dumb down and degradation that comes with the other BS reality shows.I have 2 daughters (6yr old &9 yr old) that love cooking with cooking with thier Mum and Grandmothers.Even so the show was a revelation to their senses, their imagination and palate. All of a sudden their took greater interest in the ingredients, their texture, the taste and way things cooked etc.It has been so exciting to see them discuss the program and the transfer their learnings to our everyday cooking. It's not often when a 9 year old wakes up and she wants to go in the kitchen and experiment.Congratulations to the creators and YES WE WILL BE WATCHING THE NEXT EDITION ESPECIALLY IF IT IS WITH KIDS.
I loved Masterchef and really miss it. I had lost interest in cooking but now I am excited to try some new things.I would certainly be interested in a junior Masterchef competition and would enjoy watching it. For a program to have had such an effect on both adults and children has been amazing. My five year old grandsons loved the show and my husband who doesn't cook was eager to watch it and thought he would like to try cooking some dishes! Thanks for an enjoyable few months of TV and getting to know the wonderful contestants and judges..
I have a three year old that can already make up a few dishes - pancakes and muffins being his favourite - his interest started at about 2yrs of age when I really started to learn how to cook myself ! I think if kids can learn about cooking nutritional food and encourage healthy eating at the same time we will be able to deal with our growing obesity problem. Cooking is fast becoming a lost art - with all the quick sauces available at supermarkets, the fast foods outlets and frozen foods you just throw in the microwave. We need more Stephanie Alexanders in this world - bring on the cooking shows !!!
