It was the rumour we all believed could one day happen: Madonna running a 243km marathon through the Sahara desert.

However, Madonna's spokesperson, Liz Rosenberg, has denied that the 'Celebration' singer will take part on the 2010 Marathon des Sables in Africa. Rosenberg told Contactmusic.com, "It's not true".

The marathon takes six days — or seven, depending on fitness level — to complete. Competitors can face temperatures of up to 50°C during the day, while they run over the sand dunes that make up roughly 20 percent of the course.

Madonna - the narcissistic, acid-tongued old pop hag who looks like she'd make a good "chew toy" for a Tyrannosaurus Rex - wants to run through the Sahara desert ? Maybe she will evaporate whilst trying. Would that be a loss to the human race ?
With her age, I'd really doubt it.. But her physical fitness says to others that she probably could got the first.. 5km or so. I don't think she'd be able to do it
Would I ever compete in the worlds toughest footrace? Umm, I have trouble getting of the couch! Do you think Madonna could do it? Madonna has already achieved some remarkable things in her career, and if she puts her mind to it I''m sure she could. Madonna would be after all the publicity she can get at her age, so no. Anyway, if she goes for it, good luck Madge anyone would be proud to look like you and have your fitness level at your age.
She will probably adopt someone to run for her!!!
I sure she has no clue what the Sahara Desert is all about, it must be the most gruelling race ever the heat, the sand, the dunes, to average about 40.5km per day will be no mean feat Good luck to her even with her fitness level she won't succeed
