Battle of the sexes 2.0

If there was ever a question that could be described as "age old", it would have to be, "Which is the smarter sex?"

If you've ever become embroiled a debate about this question, you'll know that there is no possible way to convince a member of the opposite sex of your superior smarts.

Now Hasbro, the company responsible for family board-game favourite Trivial Pursuit, has gone online to see if females or males can confidently say they are the smarter sex, the UK's Daily Mail reported.

"Trivial Pursuit wanted to conduct an experiment to see if trivia can answer the age-old question," said senior brand manager Hayden West.

"We're not taking sides, just providing the platform to watch this battle play out. Can you afford not to take part?"

Visit www.trivialpursuitexperiment.com to put your knowledge to the test and see if you can outshine the opposite sex.

Australians might find some of the questions a little too British, but as with the board version of the game, the multiple-choice format makes it a little easier.

Before you try logging on as a member of the opposite sex to sabotage their score, you should know points are not deducted for incorrect answers, they only compile for correct ones.

As of October 26, 2009, the scoreboard has the ladies ahead by almost 10,000 points.

But could it be that rather than proving the smarter sex, this game could merely show which sex spends more time playing the game? What do you think?

Your say: which do you think is the smarter sex? Why? Do you think this is an effective way of measuring intelligence? Share your thoughts with us below.

very easy question to answer women are smarter because they flash a couple of things and men are putty in their hands when something is heavy who do they call on why should they break their back but as far as cheating in a marriage it has also been proven women are upto if not past men now adays so woman are smarter only because of those couple of things that make men go looney
I think that both 'Flayton' and 'Angel' have disqualified themselves from taking part in any debate over which is the smarter sex with their contributions. 'Angel', are you eight years old ? What's an eight year old doing loose on the 'net anyway ? And 'Flayton', you just had to attack someone else's comment didn't you with that cynical, bitter and twisted suspicious mind thing eh ? Should have not bothered, darlings...
GGGGGGGGGGLLLLLLLLLLRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLL ARE SMARTER THEN BOYS IF U R A BOY ANSWER THIS what isd olsohc it is school u dumb assers
Judging by the amount of wrong answers in the last Trivial Pursuit game, I don't think they are in a position to judge who is smarter.
Just in response to Henrys comment....wow mate, you really are doing a fantastic job of sucking up to the ladies arent you? Youve even sold out 'the brotherhood' on our poor toileting habits! Im sure the ladies will loooove you. Dont stop there mate, how bout telling us we should put down the seat after we take a pee too. Hahaha Henry, i dont know WHO the smarter sex is (personally i dont think there is ONE), but i can tell you this. Women are too smart to fall for your lame attempt at sensitive new age snaggery. Get any emails yet clamoring for your number? Nope? Thought not. Try just being yourself and not pandering. Ladies appreciate that more methinks.
So obviously men play fair, and must be a hell of a lot smarter if we are still reasonably close to the cheating female googlers.
First of all let me just start by saying ignorance breeds ignorance. Why is there any kind of focus on which sex is smarter? All this does is stir arguments based on stupidity and transparent pride. We need equality in society and this sure as hell isn't the way to go about it. Do we really need another generation conflicting about what sex they are and the importance of being a certain sex? Mix complex scientific issues with your common moron and you will definitely get some kind of explosion.
Men are from Mars. Women from Venus. Men and women are different, and haleluja to that. It's not a question of smart but more what we are more adept at. Within the m v f argument there are as many different approaches within the same sex as there are people. Women are not smarter than men. Men are not smarter than women. They are simply different. That said, the quiz tests only one aspect of intelligence, knowledge. The fact that I know the square root of 3 doesn't mean I have Dr Spock's ability to calculate extraordinary computations in my head. It doesn't make me smart, just as knowing the capital of some obscure country doesn't. Intelligence is all about the ability to use and interpret information and knowledge. In other words to think. Enjoy the quiz. If I get the time I'll probably have a go myself, just for the hell of it. But at best it will only indicate that one sex may have better retention of facts, or that they have more time to play games!
This would be just a fun way to find out how much you actually do kno, but it doesnt make you smarter than the opposite sex, it might just mean u've learnt more or your into that knowlegde. Im a female and i can admit that my partner is smarter than me in the way of education and smarts, but i know other knowlegde, i'm more of a creator. So everyone has there own intelligence and alot of the time it comes down to how muc they put in and wat they want to achieve in life.. I don't think u can determine whos smarter!!
Well if all the guys were honest then hey, its a no brainer! You can't argue with thousands of years of evolution! Unlike us mere males who are pretty hopeless at multi-tasking, at least women can use both sides of their brain simultaneously. But then again does that mean that they are smarter ? Sorry guys i just came out of a male public toilet before reading this! I can't believe how *** you guys are when it comes to urinating. Look if you want to *** over everything at least lift the friiggin seat before you go! And hell yeah, if you make a mess, clean it up, then maybe my views will change!
