Say Babaii to bad hair days , When I was called last week to see if I would like a blow-dry with David Babaii products, there was about a millisecond when I thought "Oh no, I probably shouldn't leave my desk." And then the other side of my brain promptly smacked that thought into submission and I said "Yes, yes, yes please."

NZFW - Kate Sylvester and Trelise Cooper , Where for the past few seasons, Sylvester's collections have included playful brights, girly pastels and soft tailoring. For this outing, her clothes have become almost darkly sophisticated, in a dirty punk-rock, couture kind of way.

NZFW - Nom*D and Salasai , Thank goodness for Nom*D. While most designers have been playing it safe this week, Nom*D's autumn collection was all about the unconventional. Shown on a movie-sized screen at the Sky City Theatre in Auckland, the collection was presented as a short film which, according to the media release, told of a "journey from innocence to experience, with a few lessons in nonconformity along the way".
