Youth-boosting make-up... for less

When you're young you can easily get away without wearing any make-up and still look good.

With added years, make-up is often a must-have, so here we share a few simple tricks for ways to take years off your face.

Concern: Poor textured complexion
Solution: Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Airbrush Finish, 30ml, $21.50, seems to melt into the skin, giving a soft, dreamy finish to skin.

Concern: Uneven-toned Complexion
Solution: L’Oreal Paris Concealer Minerals, $28. These feather-light minerals are brushed over imperfections. The more you apply, the more coverage is offered, but without any heaviness.

Concern: Poor Colour
Solution: After applying foundation, brush on some Revlon Matte Powder Blush in Barely Buff, $27. Apply to the apples of the cheeks and blend in well so it looks like a rosy flush rather than a sharp contour.

Concern: Small sunken eyes
Solution: Opt for a rich brown tone which suits all colourings, such as Revlon Matte Kohl Eyeliner in Rich Mink, $24 or navy which makes the whites of your eyes stand out and is a great alternative to black. Try Maybelline Line Express Eyeliner in Blackened Sapphire, $12.

Concern: Stubby eyelashes
Solution: Always curl eyelashes before applying mascara. Try Manicare’s Eyelash Curler, $11. Follow with a high-tech product such as L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara, $27

Concern: Thin Lips
Solution: Gloss always makes lips look plumper and more voluptuous, but may have little lasting power. Try Max Factor Lipfinity Colour & Gloss, $26, which allows you to apply colour first, and then coat with shiny gloss. Apply more gloss to the centre of the lips for the illusion of added fullness.

*Use a lipstick as a blush and eyehadow that way you can cut costs. *Mix some brozer in with your moisturiser to create a tinted moisturiser with a bit of a shimmer *Using a pink lipstick will help take away the attention of any blemishes on your face. *Appying concealer to you tzone after you have done your makeup will brighten your face *Instead of an eye shadow primer try chapstick it will keep your makeup stay put for hours *Fill a clean mascara tube with hairspray and use the wand to comb eyebrows for a finished look that stays put. *Mix eyeshadow and blush powders together to create your own unique colours.
what is the correct way to shadow a prominent nose to make it appear less obvious?
i am 34 and have dry skin and have wrinkls on my forehead and around my eyes and after suffering from herpes for 25 yrs my lip line has disappeared. i have never worn make-up, and when i have it was done for weddings by someone ealse. I have no idea about what to buy or how to use it and what would be best for my skin. Would love some tips to help me look youthful and raidiant again.
