Banish dry skin this autumn

Question: My skin becomes so sensitive, particularly as the weather cools. What should I do?

Answer: Keep moisture levels high – as soon as skin becomes dry, it becomes vulnerable to all manner of winter’s sensitivities. Swap soap for a soothing body wash with ingredients like honey or milk, which will hydrate as you cleanse.

Ensure the formula you choose is soap-free, without harsh detergents that might upset your skin’s delicate lipid barrier.

Try Palmolive Naturals Milk and Honey Shower Milk, $6, or Country Life Milk + White Orchid Body Wash, $4. Always follow with a rich moisture cream, such as Nivea Body Rich Nourishing Body Moisturiser, $5.40.

As for your face, switch to fragrance- colour- and chemical-free skin care. We love Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser, $11.49. All products available from supermarkets.

Your say: How do you keep your skin moisturised as the weather gets colder? Do you have any favourite products?
