Question: Can I update my wardrobe using just accessories each season?
From Charlotte, Victoria.

Answer: Dear Charlotte,

Thank you for your email.

The most practical and often the most stylish dresses update their wardrobes each season just by accessorizing and updating their classic pieces.

A statement shoe bag or belt or even necklace can keep you looking on trend and stylish with minimal fuss.

There is nothing more polished and timeless that a crisp white shirt, well cut black pants and a fabulous shoe and necklace.

If you follow international fashion (or have seen the fabulous movie on now The September Issue) you will see this is what most of the fashion editors are wearing. These girls know how to dress – they style for a living! They have seen the trends come and go over the years. They know that the best way to stay on top of trends and fashion is not to wear the latest trend top to toe but to invest in pieces such as shoes, bags, scarves, necklaces, belts etc.

For example, a key trend this season is Safari. Instead of dressing top to toe in animal print or in the latest combat pant simply look for a print bag or belt. This will keep you on trend and not break the bank account as well.
