Dear Fashion Team,
How do I add a bright colour to my wardrobe??

Imogen, NSW

Answer: Dear Imogen,

Our favourite way to bring in a statement shade is through an accessory.

An easy way to add colour is to choose a bright pair of shoes or a bag and wear them with a neutral-coloured outfit, or even basic black. Neutrals like grey, white, tan or taupe are always in style and they look particularly chic when worn with a pop of colour like a bold cherry red bag.

What ever key accent piece you pick, that should be the only item in your outfit in that exact shade. In other words, do not upstage the splendor of your turquoise pumps by wearing them with a similarly hued skirt – this will look too matchy matchy. If you want to add another statement colour to your look, make it a small piece, like a ring or a scarf.

Remember to be judicious about whatever you add; too much bright will give one a fright!

Accessorize in style.

I really need help with my wardrobe, Ive lost a lot of weight over the last few years, my clothes are too big, or just dont look right. I usually wear black pants, with a top. I havent worn a dress or skirt for more years than I can remember. I prefer pants, they are alot easier. Im on a pension, so my funds are limited. Im also going into hospital for my third back operation in a year. This time a fusion. I love purple, pink, light blue, red. But Im open to suggestions. Hope you can help Vicki
