Can I wear flats for an evening look?

Answer: Dear Maurine,

Heels are incredibly sexy but they no longer rule the night.

There has been an influx of great choices in flats, especially as the summer month’s approach, that will bring you a little closer to earth, while still making you look chic, stylish and evening ready.

You may have seen the variety of styles of flats and sandals that are already in stores for summer eg: jeweled styles, gladiators, patents, metallics, bright’s etc. The key is choosing the appropriate pair that will be dressy enough for evening wear.

To choose the right flat, the shoe must be sleek and elegant. We suggest you pick a pair in metallic or black (either satin or patent leather). Embellishments like jewels, grosgrain bows and sequins will dress up your entire look and will help you party all night long, in comfort!!

I wear flats ALL the time, my husband is the same height as me and I hate towering over him by wearing heels. I have very little luck in finding beautiful flat shoes for evening wear. Most are too casual, look like a child should wear (Mary Jane's etc) or look as if you stole your Nan’s shoes. When will shoe designers think about the tall women of the world who rather not have the extra height of heels? I have found nowhere to find affordable beautiful flats....greatt business opportunity, I think.
I can no longer wear heels at all so have been searching for stylish flats suitable for evening wear. Whilst there are many choices there aren't many that give good arch support. The ones that have good arch support aren't suitable for evening wear! So there is my dilemma. Any ideas?
